We believe in using young sires for the betterment of the breed. Young sires are used on at least 50 percent of our matings. While this may seem high, our experience with young sires proves itself time and again. Some of our greatest cows were the result of young sire matings. Take, for example, Gurn-Z Meadow Genesis Germaine EX-90, who was Reserve Grand Champion of the National Guernsey Show in Madison.
Young sires offer an opportunity to take advantage of the breed’s best genetics. It’s exciting to watch these animals develop. We feel it's part of our responsibility to support the breed and help it progress by using new bulls so they can get a proof quickly.
Following is a look at young sire daughters that are currently completing their first lactation.
